Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Russ Guthrie is Professor Emeritus of Communication at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell. A 39 year classroom veteran, Russ has taught elements of parliamentary procedure to college students, Boy Scouts, college student government officers, and politicians. He has assisted multiple organizations in writing and revising organization bylaws. Russ is currently Bylaws Committee Chair for the Oklahoma State Association of Parliamentarians and chairs the Unit Lessons Committee of the National Association of Parliamentarians. Russ served five years as Executive Secretary for the Panhandle State Association of Alumni and Friends and four years as its presiding officer. He was President of the OPSU Faculty Senate and served on the Faculty Advisory Council to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. A Scoutmaster for 28 years, he is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and Silver Beaver recipient in the Golden Spread Council of Boy Scouts of America. |
