A Professional Registered ParliamentarianĀ® is a credentialed member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, who is available as a consultant, a "hired gun," to assist organizations in having efficient meetings. He/she either provides guidance to the presiding officer or may serve as an impartial presiding official.
Trained in the use of the most recently published edition of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised, the PRP guides the organization in proper use of parliamentary procedure, and interpretation of the organization's governing documents (charter, bylaws, and standing rules). PRP is the highest level of credential awarded by the National Association of Parliamentarians.
PRPs are also useful in training leaders and members in the proper use of parliamentary procedure. Tired of meetings which seems to take forever? Appropriate use of parliamentary procedure may cure that problem.
